LIGHTING THE SIDE BURNER

Never stand with your head directly over the Grill when preparing to light the side burner, to
preventpossible bodily injury.

Observe the flame pattern. Soft blue flames are normal ; hard blue f lames or wavyyellow flames are
not. Youcan adjust the f lame with the air shutter belowthe control knob (see Fig 19). If yellow flames persist,
refer to the TroubleshootingGuide on Page 22.

Turnthe side bur ner control knob to HIGH (see Fig.13).
Turn the Igniter Knob clockwise until the burner ignites. The burner should light within four clicks of the
igniter. NOTE: Some models are equipped with an electronic ignter. Refer to page 6 for respective piezo
and electronic igniter systems.
Turnthe control knob counterclockwise to the HIGH position, then depress it and tur n it to OFF.
NEVER force the knob without depressing it, as that can damage the valve.
