Camera positioning device configuration

Since NetworKam can be used in either PPP network or Ethernet network, the single serial port can control either external serial port devices like camera positioning devices or a data modem. While in PPP interface, go to Modem page for modem configuration. Options on this page will be ignored.

To control the external PT positioning device, “Enable camera control” must be checked and the control panel or buttons will thus display on the main page. NetworKam supports RS232 and RS485 interface to control external serial port devices. Refer to the hardware description to connect an RS485 device. The “Port Settings” and “Control Settings” must be configured according to the instruction manual of the external serial port device. The "Baud rate (bps)" of the serial port is up to 115200 bps.

The commands in "Control settings" should be edited in ASCII format. NetworKam will interpret the ASCII format command to binary string. For instance, “012000ABCD” will be sent out of the COM port as five hexadecimal bytes of 01, 20, 00, AB and CD. If the command string is composed of two or more
