Storage & Care

PROPER STORAGE

Preparing your Everyday Fabric Steamer for storage is quick and simple. When you have nished
your steaming tasks, follow the steps listed below.
1. Set Lighted On/Off Switch to “O” (off) position, and unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
2. Allow unit to cool (15 minutes for complete cooling).
3. Bring unit to a convenient sink or tub.
4. Remove Water Tank from unit. Unscrew Valve Cap and drain all remaining water from Water
Tank. Replace Valve Cap when nished.
5. Open Drain Plug and drain all remaining water from Water Reservoir to prevent overlling during
your next use. Securely replace Drain Plug and place empty Water Tank back onto main unit.
6. For storage convenience, you may wish to collapse Telescopic Pole to its most compact height
(refer to Page 7 for details).
7. Place Fabric Brush in storage compartment inside Cord Wrap, and wrap power cord around
Cord Wrap. Store Everyday Fabric Steamer in a cool dry location.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

A common maintenance need for steam appliances is the removal of build-up caused by high
mineral content in many municipal water supplies. The best way to minimize mineral build-up is
to use distilled or de-mineralized water during every use of your Everyday Fabric Steamer.
If distilled or de-mineralized water is unavailable, regular tap water may be used. However, the
resulting mineral build-up may limit the effectiveness and reduce the overall life of your Everyday
Fabric Steamer. To prevent this, it is recommended to de-mineralize the boiler after 30-40 uses
using Steamfast Lemon Acid.
Steamfast Lemon Acid (A292-008R-) is available for purchase on www.steamfast.com. You may
also contact Consumer Service directly at consumerservice@steamfast.com or 1-800-711-6617.
To remove mineral build-up:
1. Set Lighted On/Off Switch to “O” (off) position and unplug power cord from electrical outlet.
2. Allow unit to cool (15 minutes for complete cooling).
3. Bring unit to a convenient sink or tub.
4. Remove Water Tank from unit. Unscrew Valve Cap and drain all remaining water from Water Tank.
5. Open Drain Plug and drain all remaining water from Water Reservoir. Securely replace Drain Plug.
6. Mix one packet of Steamfast Lemon Acid in 8 oz (236 ml) of warm tap water, and stir solution
until dissolved. CAUTION: Only Steamfast Lemon Acid should be used in the Everyday
Fabric Steamer. Pour solution into Water Tank, and replace Valve Cap. Place Water Tank
back onto main unit.
7. Plug power cord into an electrical outlet and set Lighted On/Off Switch to “I” (on) position.
Allow unit to steam until the Water Tank is emptied. CAUTION: Do not allow unit to continue
running with an empty Water Tank. Set Lighted On/Off Switch to “O” (off) position and allow
unit to cool for a minimum of 10 minutes.
8. Open Drain Plug and drain any remaining cleaning solution from Water Reservoir. CAUTION:
Leftover solution may still be hot. Securely replace Drain Plug.
9. Pour 8 oz (236 ml) of warm tap water into Water Tank and place tank onto main unit. Open
Drain Plug and drain water from unit, then securely replace plug.
10. When nished, unplug power cord from electrical outlet. Continue with normal storage
procedure, as outlined in Proper Storage section above.
