Water treatment
Do not use
Eliminate all leaks. Continual fresh makeup water will reduce boiler life. Minerals can build up in section, reducing heat transfer, overheating cast iron, and causing section failure.
In hard water areas or low pH conditions (below 7.0), consult local water treatment company. Boiler water pH of 7.0 to 8.5 is recommended.
Freeze protection (when used)
See WARNING on page 2 for important information regarding glycol hazard.
Do not use automotive, ethylene glycol or undiluted antifreeze. Severe personal injury, death or substantial property damage can result.
Use antifreeze especially made for hydronic systems. Inhibited propylene glycol is recommended.
