Using the instrument
1. When assembl ing the instru ment, apply a small amount of the s upplied cork grease to t he cork on the ends of the joint sect ions.
2. Before playing the i nstrument war m the entire instr ument in your hands . The headjoint should be war med to body temperat ure.
Playing a cold instrument ca n result in condensation o r cracking. Be especia lly careful duri ng the winter months to kee p the instrume nt at or near room temperat ure.
3. Newinstrumentsneedtobeb roken-inandshouldbeplayedonlyashorttimeatrstt opreventthewoodbodyfromcracking.
Playingtimecanbegradua llyincreasedbutfortherstt woweeksitshouldnotexceed10minutesperday.
4. Aftereveryuse,wrapapiec eofgauzearoundtheendofthesuppliedcleaningro d.Carefullywipeoutthemoisturefr ominsidetheinstrument.
Be careful not to damage the labiu m (lip) and surroundi ng area as they play an impor tant role in the inst rument’s sound production .
