Press POWER on the front panel.

When the unit turns on, the message “WELCOME TO YAMAHA HDD/CD SYSTEM” appears on the front panel display, then the unit becomes ready to be operated.

For information on specifications such as power consumption, refer to “SPECIFICATIONS” (P.83).

Notes

Do not turn off the unit during playback or recording. Doing so may damage the HDD or data.

If the message “Wait” appears in the display for 20 seconds or more after turning on the unit, the HDD may not be installed properly. Refer to the “HDD Installation Manual” and check the connection.

SELECTING THE OPERATIONAL DRIVE (HDD/CDR)

This unit equips the HDD and CDR drive. When operating the unit, you need to select HDD or CDR drive in accordance with your purpose.

The HDD mark lights in the display, and the disc information appears.

To operate the CDR drive, press CDR.

The unit starts to read the information of a disc set in the disc tray. When the disc information is read completely, the CDR mark lights in the display, and the disc information appears.

When no disc is set in the disc tray, the message “No Disc” appears.
