Troubleshooting

Are the AC adapter and the power cable connected correctly?

Make sure that the CRW2200UX drive is correctly connected to the AC outlet, using the included AC adapter and power cable. (P. 13)

Does the power LED on the front panel of the CRW2200UX drive light up green if the power switch on the rear panel is turned on? (P. 14)

If the power LED doesn’t light up, consult your local Yamaha dealer (listed at the back of this manual).

The computer does not start up.

Is the USB interface card installed correctly?

Refer to the documentation that came with your USB interface card.

The CRW2200UX drive is not recognized by the operating system. (P. 16)

Is the CRW2200UX drive correctly connected to the computer, using the included USB cable?

Turn off the computer and the CRW2200UX drive, and make sure that the USB cable is connected securely to both the computer and the drive. (P. 12, 15)

For Windows 98 Second Edition, have you installed the included device driver? Windows 98 Second Edition does not recognize the CRW2200UX drive unless the included device driver is installed. Install the device driver, following the instructions of the separate manual, “Device Driver Installation Guide”, that came with the CRW2200UX drive.

Is the USB interface card correctly recognized by the operating system? Make sure that the USB interface card is correctly recognized by the operating system. (P. 16)

If the USB interface is correctly recognized, consult your local Yamaha dealer (listed at the back of this manual).

If the USB interface is not correctly recognized, refer to the documentation that came with your computer or USB interface card. If the problem persists, it may be caused by the device driver. In this case, consult the manufacturer of your USB interface card or a user support service of your computer manufacturer.
