Rustproofing

Rustproofing the hull, deck, and engine

Spray metallic parts of the hull, deck, and engine with a rust inhibitor such as Yamaha Silicone Protectant and Lubricant.

Rustproofing the internal engine components

Rustproof the internal engine components with a rust inhibitor such as Yamaha Stor-Rite Engine Fogging Oil.

To rustproof the internal engine components:

(1)Remove the seat. (See page 45 for seat removal and installation procedures.)

(2)Loosen the clamp screw and disconnect the air intake duct.

(4)Connect the air intake duct and securely tighten the clamp screw.

(5)Make sure that the area around the wa- tercraft is clear, and then start the engine in a well-ventilated area and let it run at idle for 15 seconds. (See page 33 for in- formation on starting the engine.)

(6)Stop the engine.

(7)Securely install the seat in its original po- sition.
