7 – CD and MD Playback—Continuous CD and MD playback
Continuous CD and MD playback
With this function, when one deck finishes, the other deck begins play.
1Turn on the CONT PLAY switch on the front panel.
2Play a CD or MD.
When the disc finishes playback, the disc in the other deck begins playing automatically. When that disc finishes, the first disc is played again, and the playback cycle contin- ues.
NOTE
During Continuous Play, the deck currently in playback automatically becomes the display master.
When the Repeat Mode is turned on, Repeat playback is performed instead of continuous playback.
That is, Repeat Mode has priority over the Continuous Play function.
To cancel Continuous Play operation, press the STOP key.
Timer Playback
By using an external timer, you can set the

When Timer Play has been turned on, the timer icon lights up in the display.
4Set the timer to the desired time. Consult the timer’s operation manual for details.

Only one deck can be selected for timer playback. This deck will become the display master during Timer Play operation.
Pitch control
When playing back an audio CD or MD, the pitch (or speed) of the playback can be varied. Pitch can be varied +/- 12.5% for MD, and +/- 16% for CD.
NOTE
Pitch control does not function for MP3 discs.
Front panel operation
1During stop, playback or playback standby mode, press the PITCH control for the desired deck to turn the Pitch Control func- tion on.
2Rotate the pitch control knob to set the pitch.
NOTE
Use the “PITCH STEP?” option in the PLAY
Remote control operation
1During stop, playback or playback standby mode, press the PITCH key to turn the Pitch Control function on.
2Use the PITCH +/- key to set the pitch. Pitch is adjusted in 0.1% increments.
NOTE
Pitch control only functions during normal playback. During recording, pitch control does not function.
For MD, when the pitch control function is on, there is no digital output of the playback signal. For CD, how- ever, a digital signal is output.
When turning the pitch control on and off during play- back, sound output is cut for a short instant.
Pitch control does not function for MD playback in LP2 mode.
