Keeps the battery secured in place.

4Bottom slot cover

The hard disk drive, memory module, and mini-PCI Express Card are placed underneath.

Status indicators

The status indicators show the current status of your computer.

Caps lock indicator

Press the Caps Lock key to enable the Caps Lock mode to type all alphabetic characters (A-Z) in uppercase directly.

2Numeric lock indicator

When the indicator is on, the numeric keypad is enabled. You can use the keypad to type numbers quickly.

3Hard disk drive indicator

When this indicator is on, a hard disk drive or an optical drive is reading or writing data.

4APS status indicator

Your computer may come with an APS status indicator. When this indicator is on, the Active Protection System (APS) is enabled.
