6.Reinstall the front bezel. See “Removing and reinstalling the front bezel” on page 18.

7.Connect one end of the signal cable to the optical drive and the other end to an available SATA connector on the system board. See “Locating parts on the system board” on page 11. Then, locate an available five-wire power connector and connect it to the SATA drive.

Replacing the primary hard disk drive

This section provides instructions on how to replace the primary hard disk drive.

To replace the primary hard disk drive, do the following:

1.Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. Then, disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the server.

2.Remove the server cover. See “Removing the server cover” on page 17.

3.Locate the primary hard disk drive. See “Locating parts on the system board” on page 11.

4.Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the rear of the hard disk drive.
