Loading documents

Using the ADF

Make sure that the scanner is on and has completed its self-test before you turn on the PC to begin scanning. See the section entitled “Scanning specifications” for information about the sizes and types of documents that you can scan.

Use the ADF to feed multiple documents automatically in a batch.

1.Fan documents before loading to prevent paper jams.

2.Place the documents face down under the balance wire in the ADF tray, with the leading edges in the auto feeder entrance.

3.Adjust the left and right guides until they are snug against the document sides.

Using the flatbed

Use the flatbed to scan documents that cannot be scanned using the ADF.

 

1.

Place the document face down on the glass platen.

 

2.

Position the document with the upper right corner aligned with the reference mark.
