Acceptable paper sizes

Document types to avoid in the ADF

You can use the i50 Scanner and i60 Scanner to scan documents that have a paper weight between 50 and 105 g (14 and 28 lb.) and that are within the following sizes:

In the ADF (automatic document feeder)

94 x 140 mm (3.7 x 5.5 in.) minimum

216 x 356 mm (8.5 x 14 in.) maximum

On the flatbed

up to A4 size (8.3 x 11.7 in.)

Do not use the ADF (automatic document feeder) to scan the document types listed below. Instead, use the flatbed to scan documents that cannot be fed by the ADF.

Paper with clips or staples attached

Paper with wet or damp ink

Paper with inconsistent thickness, such as envelopes

Paper with wrinkles, curls, folds, or tears

Tracing paper

Carbonless paper

Items other than paper, such as cloth, metal, or OHP film

Notched paper

Paper with an odd (non-rectangular) shape

Paper weight less than 50 g (14 lb.) or greater than 105 g (28 lb.)
