Formula for converting paper weights

If you know the paper grade, you can use the following formula and the values in Table A-2.to convert the weight from pounds to gsm.

Formula (weight in pounds) x (multiplier from table) = (weight in gsm)

1.Locate the paper type at the top of the table.

2.Move down the paper type column and locate the basis weight.

3.Follow the basis weight row to the left to find the approximate gsm weight.
