6.3 Routing Data in the Slave and Master Routing Modes

The FC-1ETHNroutes data in either the Slave Routing Mode (see section 6.3.1) or the Master Routing Mode (see section 6.3.2).

6.3.1Slave Routing Mode

In the Slave Routing Mode, the FC-1ETHNnever sends any data in the serial port-Ethernet direction before it first receives some data from the remote station (that is, the data in the Ethernet-serial direction). Serial data that is received at the serial port of the FC-1ETHNbefore the remote station contacts the FC-1ETHNis discarded. In the Slave Mode, the FC-1ETHNwill work with any station on the network that contacts it (but not more than three stations simultaneously), as the example in Figure 4 illustrates:
