Curve Button

The Curve tool is used to adjust the brightness properties of midtone pixels in an image. Once you click on the Curve button, the following dialog box will appear:

An introduction to each component in the dialog box and a description of how to use the Curve tool to adjust an image follows.

Colour Channel box

Use the Colour Channel box to select the colour channel to be adjusted. This allows you to adjust the curve property of each Colour channel independently.

Tonal Map

The x-axis in the Tonal Map represents the input brightness level of the pixels in an image. The y-axis represents the output brightness level of the image. By clicking and dragging the curve to change its shape, you can adjust the difference between input and output brightness levels of an image without making large changes to the dark and bright areas.
