The Processor Info Utility

1.Open the Processor Info Utility

Open the folder in which you copied the Processor Info utility. Double-click on the XLR8 Processor Info. Review the dialog for correct information.

Note: If the CPU speed or cache size are reading incor- rectly, you may have a problem with your system. Consult Chapter 5 - Tech Support.

CPU operating clock speed is determined by the formula: BUS Ratio X BUS Speed = CPU speed in MHz.

The MACh Speed G3 cards are preset at factory as follows:

Information provided in the PI Utility includes:

XLR8 Contact: This is handy information for when you need to contact XLR8 for question or comments.

CPU Speed:

Checks the current operating speed of

 

the CPU.

Bus Speed:

Provides the current speed of the bus

 

(connection) between the CPU and the

 

motherboard.

CPU to Bus

Provides the current multiplier used

Ratio:

to run the CPU at the current speed.

Backside

Provides the current size of the

Cache:

backside cache on the MACh Speed G3

 

Upgrade Card.

CPU Temp:

This provides the current temperature

 

for the CPU on the MACh Speed. the

 

optimum temperature range is from 0˚ C

 

to 85˚ C.
