3.If your computer powers up, but freezes during Startup:

a)Make sure the MACh Speed G3 is properly seated in the processor slot.

b)Be sure your old motherboard L2 Cache Card has been removed and try re-booting. (Many of the original and third-party L2 Cache can not operate at your new accelerated speeds.)

c)If your computer still does not power up, try removing the new MACh Speed G3 card and reinstalling it.

d)Verify that the G3 settings are at the factory defaults.

4.If your system is unstable:

a)If you are having a problem with random errors (sys- tem freeze, Type 1 and Type 11, communications prob- lems with the floppy drive), the BUS speed may be set too high. Set CPU BUS Speed to 40 MHz using the dip switch settings from the Frequency Chart on page 6.

b)Install the Power PC Interrupt Extension. (Obtain from Apple’s web site, http://www.info.apple.com (required w/system 7.5.5 only). Upgrade system to OS 8.x.

5.If your software freezes:

The clock and BUS speeds are recorded by some software packages when installed. Subsequent changes in speed can cause the software to freeze. Reinstall any software that seems unstable after installing MACh Speed G3 card.

The OS should be installed with a “clean install”.
