Speaker Setup

Before operating your stereo system, you need to set up the speaker configuration and the distance from the listening position to each speaker.

Note

It is not necessary to set the parameters again once you have completed the setup (with one exception*) unless you change the speaker configuration.

1	Press SPEAKER SETUP to display
	the subwoofer configuration.
SPEAKER	The subwoofer configuration appears in
SETUP CH L
MODE	the DVD Receiver's display.

2	Press MODE ADJ / to select
PRESET /	either “YES” (when a subwoofer is
MODE ADJ	connected) or “NO” (when no
	subwoofer is connected).

	If you select “NO,” the configuration of the
	front speakers is automatically set to
	“LARGE.” In this case, skip the next step
	and go to step 4.
3 ENTER	Press ENTER, then press MODE
	ADJ / to select either
	“LARGE” (when large–wideband–
	front speakers are connected) or
	“SMALL” (when small–with limited
PRESET /	bass signal handling–front
MODE ADJ	speakers are connected).

4 ENTER	Press ENTER, then press MODE
	ADJ / to select either
	“LARGE” (when a large center
	speaker is connected), “SMALL”
	(when a small center speaker is
PRESET /	connected), or “NONE” (when no
MODE ADJ
	center speaker is connected).

Note

If the front speaker configuration is set to

“SMALL” in step 3, “LARGE” will not appear in this step.

5 ENTER		Press ENTER, then press MODE
		ADJ	/	to select either
		“LARGE” (when large surround
		speakers are connected), “SMALL”
PRESET /		(when small surround speakers are
		connected), or “NONE” (when no
MODE ADJ
		surround speakers are connected).

		Note
		If the front speaker configuration is set to
		“SMALL” in step 3, “LARGE” will not appear in
		this step.
6	ENTER	Press ENTER, then press MODE
		ADJ / repeatedly to enter the
		distance between your listening
		position and one of the front
	PRESET /	speakers.

•Set the value closest to the actual distance.

The distance from the listening position to one of the front speakers must be the same as the distance to the other speaker.

•To increase the value, press MODE ADJ .

•To decrease the value, press MODE ADJ .

•You can select a distance between 1 and 9 m.
