Using the Tuner

With the built-in tuner, you can enjoy AM and FM radio stations, and you can store your favorite stations as pre- sets for quick selection.

Press the buttons repeatedly to change

 

the frequency one step at a time.

The FM frequency changes in 0.1 MHz steps; 10 kHz steps for AM.

Direct Tuning Mode

Press the [DIRECT TUNING] but-

 

 

ton.

 

“_ _ ” will flash for 16 seconds on the

 

display.

While the underscore characters

 

 

are flashing, use the number but-

 

tons to enter the frequency.

 

For example, to enter 88.1 MHz, press

 

[8], [8], [1].

Tuning into weak FM stations

If you tune in a stereo FM station, the STEREO indicator will appear if the signal is strong enough. If the signal is weak, it may not be possible to tune into the station. In this case, press the [FM MODE] button. The FM MUTE OFF indicator will appear, the station will be in mono, and there may be some interstation noise.

Tuning into Radio Stations

When tuned into a stereo FM station, the

TUNED

and STEREO indicators appear on the

display, as shown.

When tuned into an AM station, only the

TUNED

indicator appears.
