Using remote controller

You can operate the z-connected Onkyo DVD player, CD player or cassette tape deck with the remote controller provided with the TX-SR500/TX-SR500E. The graied buttons in the illustration operates the TX-SR500/TX-SR500E in any mode. The RC-478M remote controller is for USA and Canadian models, and the RC-479S remote controller is for other models.

The zconnector of the Onkyo DVD player must be connected to the TX-SR500/TX-SR500E (refer to page 16).

1. Press DVD.

DVD 2. Press to turn on the Onkyo DVD player.

3. Press the desired operation button.

Starts playback of DVD.

f:

Searches the disc in the forward

 

 

direction.

 

d:

Searches the disc in the reverse

 

 

direction.

 

2/8 :

Lets playback pause temporarily or

 

 

advances the disc frame by frame.

 

w:

Starts playback from the beginning of

 

 

the next chapter/track.

 

q:

Starts playback from the beginning of

 

 

the current chapter/track.

 

DISC :

This button is valid when the DVD

 

 

changer is used and selects the disc to

 

 

be played.

 

1–9, +10, 0 : Use to enter numeric values.

 

OSD operation buttons

 

TOP MENU : Displays the top menu of each DVD

 

disc.

 

 

 

MENU :

 

Displays a menu recorded in the

 

DVD disc.

 

 

RETURN :

 

Returns to the previous menu.

 

SETUP :

 

Displays the setup menu.

 

5//2/3 :

Selects an item in a menu.

 

ENT :

 

Enters the selection in memory.
