Surround modes for music and sports

Selecting the Hall size

In the HALL, LIVE, ARENA, and STUDIO surround modes, you can choose the size of the virtual concert hall or studio from the following three levels: LARGE, MIDDLE, or SMALL (the default setting is MIDDLE). In the following procedure, use the front panel buttons.

1.Press the SURROUND button and then rotate the SMART SCAN CONTROLLER to select the HALL, LIVE, ARENA, or

STUDIO surround mode.

2. Press the PARAMETER button and then rotate the SMART SCAN CONTROLLER counterclockwise to display "Surround Setup".

3. Press the ENTER button repeatedly to display "Hall Size".

4.Rotate the SMART SCAN CONTROLLER clockwise or counter clockwise to select "LRG (large)", "MID (middle)", or "SML (small)".

Adjusting the Effect and Reverb levels

In the HALL, LIVE, ARENA, and STUDIO surround modes, you can adjust the levels of reproduced sound reflection and reverberation according to the playback software or listening environment.

In the following procedure, use the front panel buttons.

1.Press the SURROUND button and then rotate the SMART SCAN CONTROLLER to select the HALL, LIVE, ARENA, or STUDIO surround mode.

2. Press the PARAMETER button and then rotate the SMART SCAN CONTROLLER counterclockwise to display "Surround Setup".

3.Press the ENTER button repeatedly to display "Effect" or "Reverb".

4.Rotate the SMART SCAN CONTROLLER clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust the Effect or Reverb level. Increase or decrease the value to adjust the Effect or Reverb level (initial value: 1.0).

The Effect level can be adjusted within the range of 0.4-1.6 in 0.2 increments.

The Reverb level can be adjusted within the range of 0.6-1.4 in 0.4 increments.
