2. Hardware Description

This Section mainly describes the hardware of the LevelOne GSW-2491TXM, and gives a physical and functional overview of this Module Switch.

Physical Dimension

The LevelOne GSW-2491TXM’s physical dimension is 440mmx 161mm x 44.5mm (W x D x H).

Front Panel

The Front Panel of the LevelOne GSW-2491TXM consists of 24x 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports (Auto MDI/MDIX) and one Exp slot. The LED Indicators are also located on the front panel of the Switch.

RJ-45 Ports (Auto MDI/MDIX): 24x 10/100 N-way auto-sensing for 10Base-T or 100Base-TX connections.

[In general, MDI means connecting to another Hub or Switch while MDIX means connecting to a workstation or PC. Therefore, Auto MDI/MDIX means that you can connect to another Switch or workstation without changing non-crossover or crossover cabling. ]
