Indicates that the system is working normally.

 

 

 

 

Flashing Green

Indicates:

 

 

• running a self-test.

 

 

• loading software program.

 

 

 

 

On Amber

Indicates a CPU or system failure.

 

 

 

 

Flashing Amber

Indicates system errors.

 

(Prolonged)

 

 

 

 

Ethernet Link

On Green

Indicates a valid 10/100 Mbps Ethernet cable link.

 

 

 

 

Flashing Green

Indicates that the access point is transmitting or receiving data on a

 

 

10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN. Flashing rate is proportional to your

 

 

network activity.

 

 

 

Wireless Link

On Green

Indicates the 802.11a radio is enabled.

 

 

 

 

Flashing Green

Indicates that the access point is transmitting or receiving data

 

 

through wireless links. Flashing rate is proportional to network

 

 

activity.

 

 

 

 

Off

Indicates the 802.11a radio is disabled.

 

 

 

Wireless Link

On Green

Indicates the 802.11b/g radio is enabled.

 

 

 

 

Flashing Green

Indicates that the access point is transmitting or receiving data

 

 

through wireless links. Flashing rate is proportional to network

 

 

activity.

 

 

 

 

Off

Indicates the 802.11b/g radio is disabled.

 

 

 

Security Slot

The access point includes a Kensington security slot on the rear panel. You can prevent unauthorized removal of the access point by wrapping the Kensington security cable (not provided) around an unmovable object, inserting the lock into the slot, and turning the key.

Console Port

This port is used to connect a console device to the access point through a serial cable. This connection is described under “Console Port Pin Assignments” on page B-4. The console device can be a PC or workstation running a VT-100 terminal emulator, or a VT-100 terminal.
