Connecting to a VT Series Terminal

To connect a VT Series terminal to a switch Console port (Figure 3‐11), use a UTP serial interface cable terminated with a DB9 female connector and a DB25 female connector and proceed as follows:

1.Connect the DB9 female connector at one end of cable to the DB9 male Console port connector on the switch. (If there is a switch designated as the Manager, connect to its Console port.)

2.Plug the DB25 female connector at the other end of the cable into the port labeled COMM on the VT terminal.

3.Turn on the terminal and access the Setup Directory. Set the following parameters on your terminal:
