5 Management Software Guide

Pull down Menus

There are totally of 4 pull down menus at the top of the screen. We will explain the function of each one.

System menu

Save and Load Configuration

You can save or load the configuration to a file.

To save a file, do one of the following:

In the menu, click System Save Configuration .

Note: The configuration file are named by the switch’s MAC address.

To load a file, do one of the following:

In the menu, click System Load Configuration .

In the Open File dialog box, select a “.rrcp” file and click Load.

In the Setting Active Switch dialog box, select a switch you want to set, and click OK.

Options menu

Hello polling

The Management Application send hello packet to switches in the network, and this function is used to set the generation interval of hello control frame. To reduce unnecessary control frame traffic, a value of 2 seconds is recommended.

Counter polling

The Management Application send packet to read the counter registers, and this function is used to set the generation interval of these packets. To reduce unnecessary control frame traffic, a value of 6 seconds is recommended.

Auto Detect and Reload

This function allows the program to automatically load the configuration file from the PC and restore to the switch. . Please check the “load application file automatically” to activate. The use of this function is not recommended for the switch as its settings are kept inside the switch’s non-volatile flash memory.
