Removing Expansion-Card Riser 2

CAUTION: Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the components inside the system. See your Product Information Guide for complete information about safety precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against electrostatic discharge.

NOTE: You must remove all expansion cards from the expansion-card riser before removing the riser from the system.

1Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

2Open the system. See "Opening the System" on page 71.

3Disconnect all cables connected to the expansion card.

4Remove any expansion cards from the expansion-card riser. See "Removing an Expansion Card" on page 92.

5Press the two blue release latches on expansion-card riser 2 and lift the riser straight up to clear the chassis. See Figure 3-18.

Replacing Expansion-Card Riser 2

1Align the guides on each end of expansion-card riser 2 with the mounting pins on the system board, and lower the riser into the system until the latches on the riser the engage. See Figure 3-18.

2Reinstall any expansion cards.

3Reconnect all expansion-card cables.

4Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 71.
