Disconnecting and Reconnecting the Drive using eSATA

eSATA supports hot-swapping by design, however, this feature requires proper support and setup at the host, device (drive), and operating-system level. If not properly configured you may have to power off your computer and the SoloPRO before disconnecting.

CAUTION! To avoid data loss, make sure you shut down your computer before turning off power to the drive. Do not move or disconnect the drive while it is powered up.

The system should recognize the drive if it is reconnected and powered up prior to powering up the host computer. If the drive is not recognized, restart the computer. Always make sure the drive is placed on a stable surface before reconnecting to the computer or turning on power to the drive.
