Parameter | Default | Description |
FastForwarding | ENABLED | This parameter is used to enable/disabled the |
|
| Fast Spanning Tree mode for the port. In this |
|
| mode, ports skip the Blocked, Listening and |
|
| Learning states and proceed straight to |
|
| Forwarding. |
|
| FastForwarding enables |
|
| and servers to overcome |
|
| the Spanning Tree Algorithm is implemented in a |
|
| network. Therefore, FastForwarding should only |
|
| be enabled for ports that are connected to an end- |
|
| node device. |
Configuring Bridge MIB Extensions
The Bridge MIB includes extensions for managed devices that support Traffic Classes, Multicast Filtering and Virtual LANs. To configure these extensions, use the Extended Bridge Configuration screen as shown below:
Bridge Capability
| Figure |
|
|
Parameter | Description |
Extended Multicast | Indicates that the switch does not support the filtering of |
Filtering Services | individual multicast addresses based on GMRP (GARP |
| Multicast Registration Protocol). Note that this function is not |
| implemented in the current firmware release. |
Traffic Classes | Indicates that the switch provides mapping of user priorities to |
| multiple traffic classes. (Refer to the Priority menu on page 28.) |
Static Entry | Indicates that the switch allows the static filtering of unicast and |
Individual Port | multicast addresses. (Refer to the Address Table Configuration |
| on page 19.) |
Configurable | Indicates that the switch allows you to override the default PVID |
PVID Tagging | setting (Port VLAN ID used in frame tags) and its egress status |
| |
| Configuration on page 36.) |
Local VLAN | This switch does not support multiple local bridges (that is, |
Capable | multiple Spanning Trees). |
