Using the Built-in Modem
The built-in fax/data modem module enables you to con- nect the V5 to a remote network or the Internet or fax docu- ments.
Making a Dial-up Connection
Before making a dial-up connection, you must install con- nection components in Windows and create a dialing profile for the connection. More than one profile can be created for different connection purposes.
Creating modem dial-up connection com- ponents
To install modem dial-up connection components:
1.Click Start Control Panel and double-click the Net- work Connections icon.
2.Click Create A New Connection to open a wizard that will instruct you how to install dial-up connection com- ponents and set up a profile.
When a component is created, an associated icon is dis- played in the Network Connections window. For more infor- mation on installing modem dial-up components, refer to the Windows online Help and Support Center.
