Removing the Base Cover

Replacing the Base Cover

CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer).

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the computer, use only the battery designed for this particular Alienware® computer. Do not use batteries designed for other Alienware computers.

Removing the Base Cover

1.Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.

2.Turn the computer over.

3.Loosen the eight captive screws that secure the base cover to the computer base.

4.Lift the base cover off the computer base.

Replacing the Base Cover

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the computer, use only the battery designed for this particular Alienware computer.

1.Follow the instructions in Before You Begin.

2.Align the tabs on the base cover with the slots on the computer base and place the base cover in position.

3.Tighten the eight screws that secure the base cover to the computer base.
