Removing the Heatsink

1.Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.

2.Remove:

a.battery

b.bottom cover

c.GPU module (optional)

3.Perform the following steps to remove the Heatsink:

a.Loosen the screws (in order) that secure the heat sink to the system board. [1,2,3,4]

NOTE: These screws are retained by the heatsink and should not be fully removed. b. Lift and remove the heatsink from the computer.

4.Clean the old thermal grease and apply a replacement thermal pad (if available).

Installing the Heatsink

1.Align the heatsink to its position on the system board.

2.Install the screws that secure the heatsink to the system board.

3.Install:

a.GPU module (optional)

b.bottom cover

c.battery

4.Follow the procedures in After Working Inside Your Computer.
