D. SELF TEST

Press and hold down the feed button while turning on the power. The printer will then perform a self test and print out some major settings detected. You may turn off the power and turn it on again to resume normal use of the printer at this stage. You may also press the feed button at this moment to have the printer further print out some basic font used and a special pattern to have the self test proceedings completed. A sample slip of whole self test result is printed here for reference. Please note that both serial and parallel interfaces are indicated. That means the printer is working on an auto-sensing and auto-select algorithm. The pattern of long vertical lines at bottom of the slip is an indicator for adjustment on so-called bi-directional printing offset.
