Procedure

1Press down and push the release lever away from the processor to release it from the securing tab.

2Extend the release lever completely to open the processor cover.

CAUTION: When removing the processor, do not touch any of the pins inside the socket or allow any objects to fall on the pins in the socket.

3Open the processor cover and gently lift the processor from the processor socket.

Replacing the Processor

Procedure

1Unpack the new processor, being careful not to touch the underside of the processor.

CAUTION: You must position the processor correctly in the processor socket to avoid damage to the processor.

2If the release lever on the socket is not fully extended, move it to that position.

3Orient the alignment notches on the processor with the alignment tabs on the socket.
