Attention

SmartMedia cards are precision devices. Never force the cards when inserting them, or subject them to sharp blows.

Avoid handling and storing SmartMedia cards in a hot, damp environment.

Do not touch the contact area (gold electrodes) of the SmartMedia card with bare hands. If a SmartMedia card gets dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.

SmartMedia cards may be vulnerable to electrostatic data corruption. When carrying a SmartMedia card, put it in its case.

Remember to back up data from SmartMedia cards to a PC or other storage medium from time to time (P.47).

Corrupted, lost, or erased data cannot be

restored.13
