REAR PANEL COMPONENTS

Following is a brief description of your notebooks rear panel components.

Infrared Port

The fast IrDA compatible port allows you to communi- cate with another IrDA compatible infrared device without a cable. (Figure 2-8) (See Infrared Port on page 62 for more information)

Mini-Serial Port

The mini-serial port is for connecting the optional Mini-Serial Adapter, which allows you to use serial devices without the Port Replicator. (Figure 2-8)

USB Port

The USB port allows you to connect Universal Serial Bus devices. (Figure 2-8) (See Universal Serial Bus Port on page 62 for more information)

LAN (RJ-45) Jack

The internal LAN (RJ-45) jack is used for an internal Fast Ethernet (10/100 Base-TX) connection.

External Monitor Port

The external monitor port allows you to connect an external VGA or SVGA CRT monitor. (Figure 2-8) (See External Monitor Port on page 63 for more information)

DC Power Jack

The DC power jack allows you to plug in the AC adapter or the optional Auto/Airline adapter to power your note- book and charge the internal Lithium Ion Battery.

Power Switch

This switch is the main power switch for your notebook. (Figure 2-8)
