Conserving Battery Power

When using the notebook computer with a battery, the LCD display and the hard drive can be set to switch off automatically to conserve battery power (Power Management function). For details, refer to page 41.

Opening the PowerPanel

The PowerPanel software supplied with the notebook computer allows you to make power conservation settings to suit your usage requirements.

When you start the notebook, the PowerPanel icon appears in the taskbar at the bottom of the display screen (factory default setting). It is operated with the Jog Dial control.

Displaying the PowerPanel Toolbar

To display the PowerPanel toolbar, right-click the taskbar and select Toolbars from the pop-up menu. Then, click PowerPanel and the PowerPanel toolbar appears in the taskbar. When you point to a button, a tool-tip appears showing the function of the button.

You can display the PowerPanel toolbar on the right of the screen by dragging it to the right.
