Advanced Features

Active A/V Network

Active A/V Network allows you to directly operate many of the combined functions of certain Mitsubishi TVs and your VCR at the press of one button.

If you have a Mitsubishi TV with Active A/V Network, check the following:

your VCR must be connected to External 1 (EXT-1) or Input-1 of a Mitsubishi TV with Active A/V Network

video mute must be ON

Active A/V Network setting on your TV must be set to ACTIVE (see your TV’s owner’s guide for information)

VCR remote mode set to VCR-A (See page 53)

The A/V Network must be connected as shown on page 9

To turn on the Active A/V Network on your VCR:

3Complete steps 1 and 2 on page 47. Customize choices menu appears. Use the ADJUST buttons to select Go to next page. Press ENTER.

4Use the ADJUST buttons to select A/V Network. Press ENTER to set A/V Network to ACTIVE.

5Press MENU twice to turn off the menus.

what the Active A/V Network does

The Active A/V Network makes it easier and faster to use theVCR’s Quick Program, MENU, and Play commands.

When you press QUICK PROGRAM/VCR Plus+ to begin programming:

Active A/V Network turns on your VCR and brings it to the VCR Plus+ system Menu.

Active A/V Network turns on your TV if it is off, and switches the TV to EXT-1 or INPUT-1.

When you press QUICK PROGRAM/VCR Plus+ to end programming:

Active A/V Network turns off your VCR (unless a tape is currently playing or recording).

Active A/V Network returns your TV to the channel it was on before, or turn it off (if it was off originally).

When you press MENU on the remote:

Active A/V Network turns on your VCR and brings up the VCR Main Menu screen.

Active A/V Network turns on the TV, set to EXT-1 or INPUT-1.

Some TV models may not turn on when you press MENU.

When you press PLAY on the remote:

Active A/V Network turns on your VCR and begins playing the tape.

Active A/V Network turns on the TV, set to EXT-1 or INPUT-1.

When you turn off your TV:

• Your VCR turns off, unless it is playing or recording.

Active A/V Network can also affect your VCR when some selected TV’s PIP function is used. Active A/V Network can set your VCR’s clock if your TV is equipped with StarSight®. See your TV Owner’s Guide for more information.

IMPORTANT

When using Active A/V Network, always point your remote control at your television, not at your VCR.
