Operating other manufacturers’ video equipment

By changing the remote control signals from preset ones to the other manufacturers’, you can use the remote control supplied for this system to operate other manufacturers’ VCRs, CATV converters, DBS tuners, and TVs. (For TVs, see page 20.)

•When operating other video equipment, aim the remote control directly at the remote control sensor on each equipment. Refer also to the instruction manuals supplied with your equipment.

•Manufacturers’ codes are subject to change without notice. If they are changed, this remote control cannot operate the equipment.

Using the remote control for CATV converter or DBS tuner operations

7For operating your CATV converter or DBS tuner

1 Slide the remote control mode selector to ”CATV/DBS.”

2 Press and hold TV .

Keep it pressed until step 4 is finished.

3Press TV CONTROL.

4Press Number buttons (1-9, 0) to enter a manufacturer’s code (2 digit).

See the list below to find the code.

Examples: For a GI Jerrold product, press 0, then 1.

For a Sony, press 2, then 0.

5Release TV .

6Try to operate your CATV converter or DBS tuner by pressing

TV .

When your CATV converter or DBS tuner turns on or off, you have entered the correct code.

If there are more than one code listed for your brand of CATV converter or DBS tuner, try each one until you enter the correct one.

You can use the following buttons for operating your CATV converter or DBS tuner:

IMPORTANT:

When using the remote control, check to see if its	AUDIO/
	TV/VCR
remote control mode selector is set to the correct
	CATV/DBS
position:
To operate CATV converter or DBS tuner, set it to “CATV/DBS.”

TV :	Turns on and off the CATV converter or DBS tuner.
CHANNEL +/–:	Changes the channels.
1-10, 0, +10 (100+):	Selects the channel.
