About HDMI

HDMI is the next-generation all digital interface for consumer electronics. HDMI enables the secure distribution of uncompressed high-definition video and multi-channel audio in a single cable. Because digital television (DTV) signals remain in digital format, HDMI assures that pristine high-definition images retain the highest video quality from the source all the way to your television screen.

HDMI, the HDMI logo and High-Definition Multimedia Interface are trademarks or registered trademarks of HDMI Licensing LLC.

Use the HDMI INPUT interface for your external devices such as set-top boxes or DVD players equipped with an HDMI output connection as shown on the top.

Notes: 1. The HDMI INPUT interface is not intended for use with personal computers.

2.Only formats such as 1080i, 720p/60Hz, 576i, 576p, 480i and 480p are available for HDMI INPUT interface.

3.The HDMI INPUT interface on INPUT1 contains the copy protection system called High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). HDCP is a cryptographic system that encrypts video signals when using HDMI connections to prevent illegal copying of video contents.

4.Connect the HDMI or DVI to HDMI connection cable from the output of the HDTV set-top box or DVD player to the HDMI INPUT interface as shown on the TV set above. When using a component with DVI output, you also have to connect the AUDIO OUT (R/L) of the component to the AUDIO (R/L) of INPUT1.
