2Select »DYNAMIC« with »￿« or »￿«.

3Use »￿« to move to the right column.

»OFF«, »2/8« ... »6/8«, »FULL«. »OFF« (default setting) means uncom- pressed dynamics (for example, during the day), »FULL« means com- pressed dynamics (for example, late at night).

4Select the required setting by pressing »￿« or »￿« and confirm with »DEMO/OK«.

Setting the surround mode

Depending on the input signal, you can choose between different surround modes (Stereo, Pro Logic, Pro Logic II Virtual, Pro Logic II Music, Pro Logic II Movie, Pro Logic II Matrix). For digital multi-channel audio signals (5.1) (Dolby Digital, DTS), the optimum setting is made automatically, depending on the loudspeakers connected. For 2-channel audio signals, the following settings are possible:

1 Select »AUDIO SETUP« with »￿« or »￿« and confirm with »DEMO/OK«.

2Select »PRO LOGIC« with »￿« or »￿«.

3Use »￿« to move to the right column.

»OFF«: Pro Logic is deactivated. »OFF« is the default value.

»ON«: setting for VCD/S-VCD mode.

»AUTO«: setting for general disc operation.

4Select the required setting by pressing »￿« or »￿« and confirm with »DEMO/OK«.

5Make further settings, to do this use »￿« or »￿« to select »PRO LOGIC II MODE« and switch to the right column with »￿«.

Settings: »PRO LOGIC«, »VIRTUAL«, »MUSIC«, »MOVIE« or »MATRIX«.

6If »MUSIC« is set, use »￿« or »￿« to select »PRO LOGIC II CNTL« and confirm with »DEMO/OK«.

7Using »￿« or »￿«, select »DIMENSION«, »PANORAMA« and »CENTER WIDTH« in that order and make the appropriate settings.

For »DIMENSION«: »-3« to »3« (moves the sound field more to the front or to the back).

For »PANORAMA«: »ON« or »OFF« (»ON« widens the scope of the front loudspeakers).

For »CENTER WIDTH«: »0« to »7« (adjustment for the central sound playback).

8Select the required setting by pressing »￿« or »￿« and confirm with »DEMO/OK«.
