Software update

TV base software and DVB software

Your TV offers you the option of updating the TV base and DVB software. The current software versions are broadcast by satellite (only via Astra1 at present) or can be installed in your set by a USB stick. Ask your dealer about the possibility of updating the software with a USB stick.

Location of TV set UK or IRL: With the DVB software update either MHEG-5 or DVBi3 is updated depending on the selection during the first installation. After this update it is not possible any longer to switch between MHEG-5 or DVBi3 software via first installation.

MHEG-5 software update only available via USB stick and DVB-T.

Automatic search for new software via satellite

If your set has a upgraded satellite tuner, it determines overnight whether a new software version is available via satellite. However, the TV set must remain in standby mode (do not switch off with the mains switch).

If a new software version has been found, the set informs you with an on-screen message the next time it is switched on (see right column

– Load new software).

Manual search for new software via USB /satellite

If it is not automatically displayed that a new software is available when switching on the set, you can also run a manual search.

The system first checks whether a software update is available on an inserted USB stick. If not, an updater is searched for via satellite if up- graded.
