3. The remote control

The Metz Remote Control RL 18 can be used to control the TV set and the basic functions of video recorders VCR1 and VCR 2, a DVD player and HiFi units (such as radio, cassette player, CD player, amplifier, etc.) made by Metz or various other manufacturers.

The remote control sends the commands to the TV set with the aid of infrared radia- tion. Always point the remote control at the TV set when using it. The remote con- trol may occasionally interfere with the operation of other infrared-controlled devi- ces or systems (such as infrared headpho- nes) within its range.

Ensure that no sunlight falls directly

on the TV set, since this may result in malfunctions because the set cannot detect the infrared signals from the remote control.

Note that the TV set must be switched on with the mains switch before it can be con- trolled with the remote control.

The various operating levels of the remote control are programmed as follows in the factory:

•TV Metz TV sets 30TL55

•VCR1 Metz VCR with remote control RH51

•VCR2 Metz VCR with remote control RF52

•DVD Metz DVD player with remote control RG/RH37

•HiFi Metz HiFi CD receiver HE 11 with remote control F11

Do not use rechargeable batteries in the remote control.

Use only two dry batteries of the type

LR03/ AM4/AAA 1.5V Micro.
