Picture Quality

Manual Tracking

Your VCR is equipped with automatic tracking control. This will be adequate for most tapes and will automatically adjust the tracking to suit the particular tape in use but if you insert an old or worn tape, it may be necessary to manually adjust the track-

ing in order to get the best picture. If automatic tracking fails, you will notice noise bars appear- ing across the picture; you can correct this by manually overriding the tracking using the follow- ing steps.

override automatic tracking During playback, press /on the Remote Control to engage manual tracking.

adjust tracking manually Use the PR + or buttons to adjust the tracking manually.

NOTES:

Press /again to re-engage automatic tracking.

When a new tape is inserted, the VCR returns to automatic tracking.

Video Stabilizer

You can automatically correct vertical vibrations in the picture when playing back unstable recordings made on another VCR. The default setting is OFF.

Regardless of the setting, this function has no effect during recording and during special effects playback.

The on-screen display may jitter vertically when this function is set to ON.

To watch recordings with close-caption, set this function to OFF.
