2Press the ù (or û) button to select the VCR setup option, then press the OK button.

The VCR setup menu appears.

3Press the ù (or û) button to select the Child Lock option, then press the > (or <) button to select the “On” position, as indicated by the “ z”.

NOTE: Select the “Off” position to cancel the child lock function.

4When finished, press the MENU button to exit the menu.

While the child lock function is active, the message “Blocked” will appear on the TV screen.

Ad JUMP®

The Ad JUMP® feature allows you to skip through to the end of a commercial break at a faster speed and resume normal playback at the point when the program restarts.

1During playback, press the Ad JUMP button when a commercial starts.

Forward picture search begins.

The sound is muted.

2Press the Ad JUMP or the PLAY button when the commercial ends.

The tape will rewind for a few seconds, then playback will resume.

NOTES:

œEven when the child lock function is activated, timer recording and other functions can still operate normally.

œSince the child lock function can be activated or deactivated by remote control, you may wish to store the remote control in a secure location while the child lock function is activated.
