NOTES:

MUTE

Press the MUTE button to switch

off the sound. The TV/VCR’s soundMUTE will be silenced and “MUTE” will

briefly appear on the screen. The sound can be switched back on by pressing this button again or one of the VOL + or – button.

CHANNEL

Press and release the CH C or D

button. The channel automaticallyCH 012 stops at the next channel set

into memory. For proper operation, before selecting channels, they should be set into the memory.

See pages 16 and 17 “To memorize channels”.

DISPLAY

Press the DISPLAY button. The clock, date, channel number, real time tape counter, tape speed and VCR operation will be indicated.

Press the DISPLAY button again to disappear the call display.

NOTE: To listen through the headphones, insert a headphones (not supplied) with a 1/8" mini plug into PHONES jack on the front. The sound from the TV speaker is muted.

SLEEP

To set the TV/VCR to turn off after a preset amount of time, press the SLEEP button on the remote control. The clock will count down 10 minutes for each press of the SLEEP button (120, 110, ...10, 0). After the sleep time is programmed, the display will appear briefly every ten minutes to remind you that the sleep timer is operating. To confirm the sleep timer setting,

press the SLEEP button and the remaining time will be momentarily displayed. To cancel the sleep timer, press the SLEEP button repeatedly until the display turns to 0.

R-TUNE

This button allows you to go back

to the last channel selected byCH 012 pressing the R-TUNE button. Press

this button again to return to the last channel you were watching.

CLOSED CAPTION

Press the CC button to switch between normal TV and the two closed caption modes (captions and full screen text). Closed captioning

will display text on the screen forCAPTION CH 1 hearing impaired viewers.

If using an indoor antenna or if TV reception is very poor, the Closed Caption Decoder text may not appear. In this case, adjust the antenna for better reception or use an outdoor antenna.

When activating the Closed Captioned Decoder, there will be a short delay before the Closed Captioned text appears on the screen.

Closed Captioned TV programs can be recorded and played back on a VCR with the Closed Captioned text intact. The Closed Captioning text will disappear during Cue, Rewind and Pause modes or if the VCR tracking is not adjusted properly.

Closed Captioned text is only displayed in locations where it is available.

If the Display is on, the Closed Captioning text will not appear.

WHAT IS CLOSED CAPTIONING?

This television has the capability to decode and display Closed Captioned television programs. Closed Captioning will display text on the screen for hearing impaired viewers or it will translate and display text in another language.

CLOSED CAPTIONING WITH A VCR

Closed Captioned programs can be recorded and played back on a VCR with the Closed Captioned text intact. The Closed Captioned text will disappear during Cue (Fast Forward Search), Review (Rewind Search) and Pause Modes or if the VCR tracking is not adjusted properly.

TO VIEW CLOSED CAPTIONS

Press the CC button on the remote control to switch between normal TV and the two Closed Caption Modes (Captions and Full Screen Text).
