SPECIAL PLAYBACK

TO VISUALLY SEARCH FOR DESIRED POINTS

When either the FF or REW button is pressed in the PLAYBACK mode, the speed search picture will appear. When pressed twice, the search picture will increase speed. Speed search time depends upon the speed used (SP, LP or SLP) during recording. See chart below. To visually search backward or forward, press the REW or FF button once or twice in the PLAYBACK mode. Press the PLAY button to resume normal viewing speed.

CM SKIP

Press the CM SKIP button in the PLAY mode. The VCR will search forward through approximately 30 seconds of the tape (e.g. unwanted commercial time) for each press of the CM SKIP button (maximum six presses) and then resume normal playback.

RECORDING A TV PROGRAM

RECORDING AND VIEWING THE SAME TV PROGRAM

1Load a cassette tape with the erase prevention tab intact.

2Press the SPEED button to select the desired tape speed SP or SLP. The counter and SP

or SLP will appear on the screen

about 4 seconds.

3Set the TV/CATV option to the appropriate position (See page 16).

NOTES: • If power is switched off during recording, the TV set goes off and the VCR continues to record. Press the STOP button to halt the recording and turn off the VCR.

The TV/VCR Channel cannot be changed during recording.

4Press the Direct Channel Selection buttons or CH C or D button to select the channel to be recorded.

TO WATCH STILL PICTURE

Press the PAUSE/STILL button in the PLAYBACK mode. Press the PLAY button or PAUSE/STILL button to resume normal playback.

The audio output is muted during Speed Search and Still.

A few noise bars will appear on the TV screen

during Speed Search and Still.

5 Press the REC/OTR button.

" " and the channel number will appear on the screen and the REC indicator will light.

TO STOP RECORDING

To prevent damage to the tape, Still and Speed

Search mode is automatically changed to the

Playback mode after 5 minutes.

TO WATCH A TAPE REPEATEDLY

Press the STOP button to stop recording. “ ” will appear on the screen.

TO STOP RECORDING TEMPORARILY

Press the PAUSE/STILL button to avoid recording unwanted material.

2Press the SET/TRACKING + or

– button to select the AUTO REPEAT option.

3Press the ENTER button to select the ON position.

” will appear on the screen and the REC indicator will blink on and off. Press the PAUSE/STILL button or the REC/OTR button to continue the recording.

NOTE: The PAUSE mode will be changed to STOP mode after five minutes to prevent damage to the tape.

NOTES: • AUTO REWIND FEATURE

4Press the MENU button. If you press the PLAY button, the tape will play over and over until the repeat mode is canceled.

NOTE: To cancel repeat mode, follow above steps 1 and 2, then press the ENTER button to select the OFF position. Press the MENU button to return to the TV. The repeat function is canceled automatically when the unit is switched off or the tape is ejected.

This TV/VCR will automatically rewind the video cassette when the tape has ended (except during OTR and Timer Record). It will also eject the video cassette.

If the erase prevention tab is removed, the tape will eject when the REC/OTR button is pressed for recording.
