Chapter 8: DVD Playback

Title selection DVD

Two or more titles are recorded on some discs. If the title menu is recorded on the disc, you can select the desired title.

1 Press Nduring playback. Title menu appears on the screen.

2 Press B b C c to select the desired title.

3 Press Tor S.

The playback of the selected title will start.

Note:

Depending on the DVD, you may not be able to select the title.

Depending on the DVD, a “title menu” may simply be called a “menu” or “title” in the instructions supplied with the disc.

Depending on the DVD, the title menu may be displayed automatically when the disc is loaded.

Depending on the DVD, a chapter menu may be displayed after you select a title.

Changing soundtrack language

DVD VCD

You can select the language when you play a multilingual disc.

1 Press cduring playback.

The current soundtrack language will appear.

AUDIO 1 / 4 : D 5 . 1 ENGLISH

2 Press crepeatedly until the desired language is selected.

The on screen display will disappear after a few seconds.

AUDIO 2 / 4 : D 5 . 1 JAPANESE

In case of Video CD playback

1 Stop the disc playback.

2 Press Yand open the Audio menu.

3 Highlight Audio Setup and press T.

4 Press B or b to highlight DVD Audio, and then press C or c to select the desired audio mode (Stereo, L-Mono, R-Mono, or MIX-Mono).

Note: This item may not be selectable depending on the disc.

Note:

If the desired language is not heard after pressing the button several times, the language is not recorded on the disc.

Changing soundtrack language is cancelled when you eject the disc. The initial default language or available language will be heard if the disc is played back again.

If you select DTS in playing DTS-encoded disc, no sound will be heard from the TV’s speakers.

Subtitles DVD

When playing back a disc recorded with subtitles, you can select the subtitle language or turn the subtitle off.

1 Press brepeatedly during playback until your desired language appears.

SUBTITLE 02 / 02 : JAPANESE

2 To turn off the subtitle, press buntil “SUBTITLE OFF” appears.

The “SUBTITLE OFF” on screen display will disappear after a few seconds.
