Learning about the remote control

The buttons used for operating the TV only are described here. For a complete list of the remote control’s functions, see “Remote control functional key chart” ( pages 27-28).

Note: The error message “NOT AVAILABLE” may appear if you press a key for a function that is not available.

1無 POWER turns the TV on and off. When the TV is on, the green LED indicator on the TV front will be illuminated.

2無 FREEZE freezes the picture. Press again to restore the moving picture ( page 45).

3無 SLEEP accesses the sleep timer ( page 58).

4無 PIC SIZE cycles through the picture sizes: Natural, TheaterWide 1/2/3, Full, 4:3 HD, Native and Dot by Dot ( pages 42-44).

5無 Channel Numbers (0–9, –/100) directly tune channels.

The button is used to tune digital channels ( page 42) or to edit the Favorites List ( page 39).

6無 INPUT selects the video input source ( page 38).

7無 CH pq cycles through programmed channels when no menu is on-screen ( pages 34-35).

8無 VOL + – adjusts the volume level.

9無 WIDGETS selects featured websites from Net TV menu.

10無 FAV accesses the Favorites List in the Channel Browser™ ( page 39).

11無 CH RTN returns to the last viewed channel or source ( page 42).

12無 MUTE reduces or turns off the sound ( page 47).

13無 QUICK accesses Quick menu.

14無 INFO displays TV status information as well as program details, when available ( page 61).

15無 / While watching TV, these buttons open the Channel Browser™ and tune to the previous/next channel in the channel history ( page 39). (Also see “Arrow buttons.”)

17無 OK activates highlighted items in the main menu system. 18無 RETURN returns to previous menu.

20無 CC opens the closed caption selector ( pages 46-47). 21無 MTS selects the audio mode.

23無 MODE SELECT switch selects between TV, CABLE/SAT, DVD, and AUX modes ( page 26). Set to “TV” to control the TV.
