Digital Output Jack (Coaxial•Optical)

This is used for output of the digital audio signal recorded on DVDs, CDs, Video CDs and digital audio LDs.

Depending on the components connect, noise may be generated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Connect to the PCM/jack, and select PCM from a menu.

Switching between PCM/and PCM output is possible. If your amp is not Dolby Digital(AC-3) compatible, you should switch to PCM output. (Refer to the chart on the right).

Note

Output of karaoke sound (sound from mics, Key control etc.) is not digital, so be sure to connect this player's audio output jack to your amp's audio input jack (AUDIO IN).

Performing settings

1Turn amp volume down (to MIN).

2Load a DVD disc and set to the Stop mode, press the MENU button on the remote control.

¦Main menu is displayed.

3Select the OUTPUT setting with the button on the remote

control.

4Press digit button on the remote control, and select

DIG.OUTPUT .

5Press digit button on the remote control, and select PCM .

Tip

When switched for PCM output.... For digital output to a regular amp

that is not Dolby Digital(AC-3) compatible, even audio recorded in Dolby Digital is converted to PCM output.

When switched for PCM/DOLBY DIGITAL output.... PCM audio is output as

PCM, and Dolby Digital audio is output as Dolby Digital.

There are two sets of outputs, 1 and 2, which you can simultaneously connect. Connect 1 to the TV, and 2 to your AV amp.
